Isn’t it well said that we miss things or we know the true value of things, only when we lose them?
That’s what we are feeling right now due to online education. For some, online education is frustrating, for some it is impossible to understand any concept, and for some it’s just a leash for passing nicely with flying colors.
But still we miss the normal schedules, the convincing faces of classmates when you are scolded or the face turning into a laugh when you shamelessly say the wrong answer aloud!
We miss the normal school schedules, the convincing faces of classmates when you are scolded or the face turning into a laugh when you say the wrong answer aloud!
So here are 5 things we miss the most because of these online classes:
1. Lunch Breaks
Well, the heading should also include the in-between class snack munching because from eating those sticky dairy milks during those periods after recess when your classmate gives on her birthday, to nicely crunching those fritters, most of the lunch was during class, right? And recess had a different plethora. Either you would have a sulken face due to the not-so-good lunch packed or you may be hyperactive to tell who got scolded and who was the most studious one!
2. Paper Showing or PTMs
Okay, even though you were scolded badly and extremely impudently, you do miss those parent teacher’s meetings. While your mother or father used to anguishly or maybe happily turn the pages of your paper, you were always busy telling them where your bench was on normal days or what was the name of the student who had just entered the class!
Additionally, your parents would have definitely asked your teacher, ‘Yeh kaisa karti/karta hai class mein?‘ (How well is she/he doing in the class) and yes, the most lovely part would be when the teacher would sit down to tell you dozens of wrong things you did effortlessly in class!
Exams are a dreadful concept, agreed, but the night before an exam spent calling your friend, asking for answers or convincing him to not cry and comforting him that he would pass, was the jewel of those memories! And how school would take up a test almost every week, every month! And the maths teacher, always diving in for a surprise test, had caused way too much havoc in the class!
4. Class Nap
Language based periods and social science periods, should be highly reported for having the maximum number of students, either dozing off behind the textbook or some brave ones to take a nap with no coverage! And surprisingly, those naps were so relaxing and how you could sleep almost amazingly in that noise of the class! And if your name had been called by the teacher, your partner almost helped you to tell you that the teacher was asking about the 3rd chapter and not the 2nd!
5. School Programme
Okay, school programmes actually were very pathetic except for good annual functions, but that also sometimes. Every major festival, be it Diwali or Christmas or even children’s day, the school really was running out of topics and had such bad ideas for the programmes, still we clapped ferociously when the anchor said, ‘Let’s have a huge round of applause for the performance!‘
Also, meeting your friends is the major thing you are reminiscing right now-trying to control their anger at something the teacher told, laughing with them till you forgot how to even stop, telling them that they had written the wrong answer as you were copying from their book itself, using the, A,B,C- forehead, Nose, Chin technique for MCQs in exams.. phew.. we do miss that!
