In the second round of Wimbledon, Roger Federer easily defeated Richard Gasquet.
Roger Federer breezed past Richard Gasquet in the second round of Wimbledon 2021 and will now face Britain’s Cameron Norrie. Federer easily defeated 35-year-old Gasquet, winning 7-6 (7-1), 6-1, 6-4.
Norrie, Federer’s next opponent, advanced to the last 32 for the first time after defeating Australian wildcard Alex Bolt 6-3, 6-1, 6-2.
Federer now has a Grand Slam win-loss record of 367-59. The Swiss master’s win-loss record at Wimbledon now stands at 103-13. In 2021, he is 5-0 at Grand Slams, including the French Open, where he withdrew before his fourth-round match. This was also his seventh tournament victory in 2021.
Federer’s head-to-head record now stands at 18-2. It was also his tenth consecutive victory over Gasquet, dating back to the 2011 ATP Masters 1000.
